Just landed in San Francisco for a huge Modern Warfare 2 event tonight at Fort Mason’s Herbst Pavilion where players will compete for some serious cash. Ran into a few contestants in the lobby of the hotel (where apparently they’re ALL staying!!) – should be an eventful night. I’ll update with pics when the event kicks off! It’s open to the public, so if you’re in the area, swing by!

Checked out the new Wax Museum in Hollywood tonight and it was creepy as hell! Mostly cause they were so insanely real looking. Case and point, ole’ Brucey down there!

I’ve been a New Found Glory (@) (.com) fan since ‘Nothing Gold Can Stay‘ — their debut studio album — so old they don’t even list it in their discography on their official page, starting instead with their first Drive Thru Records album; the self-titled “New Found Glory” which is by far my favorite from the band.
Being the OG NFG fan that I am, it came as a pleasant surprise when they tweeted out a pic of their merch table from their current 10th anniversary US tour. A merch table that included some familiar art work (see above).

Word on the tweets is that there may just be some new Fallout: New Vegas news hitting tomorrow according to the Official Bethesda Twitter Feed, it says – and I quote:
“Keep your eyes peeled for #FalloutNewVegas stuff tomorrow!” – @bethblog
I’m looking forward to it. Seeing as Fallout 3 was one of my all time favorite games of the past few years (if not ever), I’ll be anxious to see what they have in store for it’s semi-sequel.

We just recieved this insane Tactital Knife in the mail from our friends the Sea Snipers (the crew responsible for the multiplayer strategy guide). Comes complete with the Infinity Ward logo just like on the throwing knife in-game.
Simply Awesome.
This thing is hefty too. I can see why they’re 1-hit KO’s now.

Spent a few hours this week getting my office together. You’ll be surprised how much clutter you’ll accumulate over 2-years of development when the LAST thing on your mind is cleaning.
The life-size Ghost statue is also finally completed and looking awesome.
{bonus points if you can name every video game franchise represented}

We’ve updated the PC version of Modern Warfare 2, including the following fixes:
- Care Package, Emergency Airdrop, and Sentry Gun marker grenades sprint speed normalized.
- Sentry Guns: Improved placement detection, preventing cases of Sentry Guns inside geometry.
- Model 1887: Bling using Akimbo and FMJ combination now has same range and damage as non-Bling Model 1887s.
- Improved player collision removing cases of getting into geometry and ‘elevators’.
- Mouse latency tweaks for more mouse movement consistency. (PC-ONLY)
- Fixes to prevent various texture hacks (PC-ONLY)- Fix to prevent various XP hacks, including the prevention of obtaining negative XP.
These fixes, excluding the ones I’ve labeled as (PC-ONLY), are currently in test for the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions as well. Before you ask why there is a delay from PC to consoles, it’s because we can update IW-NET directly and therefore the fastest. The console versions require additional testing through their respective manufacturers.

Today was a little like ‘Yearbook Day’ for me at the studio — only replace “yearbook” with “awesome Soap MacTavish canvas print” — as I went around and got autographs from everyone on the Infinity Ward team. Thanks for the MW2 memories guys!

Probably the coolest thing to be added to my game room wall in a LONG time. Barely beating out the Zombie Playground painting. Discovered after researching the origin of the “I’m with Coco” art below — spoiler, it’s the same artist!
